The Subaru BRZ has become an extremely popular two-door sports car among enthusiasts of all ages.  Since production started in 2012, these 2,800lb naturally aspirated boxer-powered vehicles are a great platform for almost anything.  Carter purchased his 2013 BRZ Limited about two and half years ago as his first Subaru.  He wanted a car with superior handling in the corners of the Southern California canyons, but also a car that was appealing to look at.  Originally, the color of the car was the Subaru fan-favorite: World Rally Blue.  Later on, Carter decided to go with a wrap to protect the paint and change up the appearance with the current Satin Light Blue vinyl.  At first glance I thought it was one of the five hundred limited-edition Hyper Blue series BRZ’s, a very similar color.  I love wraps that look similar to an OEM factory paint code, especially the Hyper Blue.  So much so that I’ve even thought about getting a similar wrap in the future.

Carter loves driving the canyon roads, and what’s not a better car to be ripping around in?  He has swapped out the stock, “Prius-spec” 215/45/17 tires for the much meatier Enkei RS05RR wheels, wrapped in 255/35/R18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport’s – a much better canyon-carving supporting modification.  He says, “what I enjoy most about my BRZ is the overall driving experience,” which is a similar feeling I fully condone.  Sometimes it just goes to show that it doesn’t matter how fast you can go, and that can be demonstrated with a car like the BRZ on some winding roads.  I’ll never forget the time the guys and myself were tying to keep up with the BRZs/FR-Ss on the Tail of the Dragon back in April for Boxer Takeover.  They barely had to touch the brakes.
Between the short 101-inch wheelbase and the FA20 engine it makes for quite the nimble little car.  Carter’s future plans are “endless,” as he puts it.  “I would really like to supercharge it and go e85.  Other than that, the other big plan would be a Rocket Bunny V1 kit and new wheels.”  Thanks again to Carter for letting us feature you as our Driver of the Day!  To see more of Carter and his 2013 Subaru BRZ Limited check him out on Instagram at @carter.subi!
